The waterflood device is a fully automated core flooding system designed to evaluate and optimize secondary recovery methods including waterflooding and dry gas injection. The complete setup is used to carry out core flood experiments with liquid/liquid and liquid/gas at unsteady state conditions on standard and composite core samples at reservoir conditions of temperature and pressure. Displacement efficiency is also determined. Typical configuration of a waterflood system includes injection pump, N2 injection line, three fluid transfer vessels, hydrostatic coreholder, confining pump, back pressure regulator, airbath, pressure measurement system, ambient fluid video separator, fraction collector, wet gasmeter and data acquisition system.
